ComCap Asset Management Takes Over Management of Community Housing Partners Portfolio In Aurora
January 15, 2014
Community Housing Partners (CHP), located at 791 Chambers in Aurora, CO, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing affordable housing and transitional support, with the mission of providing tools and accountability for job skills training and for fostering self-sufficiency opportunities for low income families in Aurora, Colorado.
Part of CHP services includes offering the individuals and families they serve with affordable housing opportunities. The organization owns five properties in Aurora with a total of 114 apartments and townhomes.
Donna Baiocco, with 20 years of experience in the affordable housing and working with the homeless community within the Denver Metro area, is Executive Director of Community Housing Partners. Upon taking on the executive director role and together with the CHP Board of Directors, the organization decided to consider changing management companies.
“Our properties have special funding and unique regulations and requirements for both residents and management. There are a limited number of companies that have the experience and expertise required to professionally manage properties like ours.” stated Ms. Baiocco. ComCap was recommended to us by a well-respected affordable housing consultant, so we included ComCap as a recipient of our RFP. In thoroughly assessing the candidates, ComCap became our clear choice, and throughout the first few months of management, we are confident we made the right decision.”
“With HUD, Section 42, HOME funds and other interesting management requirements, CHP’s portfolio is rather challenging.” commented ComCap’s President. “But that’s what we do! Our extensive experience in the world of affordable housing makes us a great choice for owners such as Community Housing Partners. Every property in their portfolio needed immediate attention. Donna and the Board gave us the authority to take action and we all are now quite pleased with their condition and performance.
